The source is in EBCDIC. When CVS checks it in, the client translates it
to ASCII and sends it on to the server. When the file is checked out,
it's transmitted in ASCII and the client translates back to EBCDIC.
I've not run the Server on MVS, but I believe that it would save it's
files in ASCII. Not the best solution, but workable since you rarely
look at those.
